Aktuelle Statistik zum Irak-Krieg (Kriegsbeginn - September 2009)


Weniger US-Truppen, Millionen auf der Flucht, Hunderte tote Iraker jeden Monat und die Ölproduktion liegt immer noch unter dem Stand vor dem Krieg. Aber mehr als die Hälfte der Iraker haben ein Mobiltelefon. Juhu.

Nachfolgend die aktuellsten Zahlen aus dem Irak (Stand September 2009):


U.S. TROOP LEVELS:

_October 2007: 170,000 at peak of troop buildup.

_Sept. 30, 2009: 124,000

CASUALTIES:

_Confirmed U.S. military deaths as of Oct. 1, 2009: at least 4,346.

_Confirmed U.S. military wounded (hostile) as of Sept. 30, 2009: 31,514.

_Confirmed U.S. military wounded (non-hostile, using medical air transport) as of Sept. 5, 2009: 38,593.

_U.S. military deaths for September 2009: 10, the fourth lowest number since the war began in March 2003.

_Deaths of civilian employees of U.S. government contractors as of June 30, 2009: 1,395.

_Iraqi deaths in Sept. 2009 from war-related violence: at least 238, a sharp drop from last month's 425. September was the second least deadly month for Iraqis since the AP began tracking casualties in May 2005.

_Assassinated Iraqi academics as of Sept. 18, 2009: 431.

_Journalists killed on assignment as of Oct. 1, 2009: 139.

COST:

_Over $687 billion, according to the National Priorities Project.

OIL PRODUCTION:

_Prewar: 2.58 million barrels per day.
